6 Things You May Not Know About Dumpster Rental
About Dumpster Rental
Renting a dumpster may not be something you do on a daily or monthly basis, you may have never even ordered a dumpster before. At Waste Solutions 123 it’s our mission to provide a reliable roll off dumpster, at an affordable rate, and in a timely manor. It’s important before you rent a dumpster that you have the most information possible. There are a few aspects of the dumpster rental business that most people don’t understand. Here are some common misconceptions and the truth behind dumpster rental.
There’s a Variety of Sizes
Dumpsters come in a variety of sizes, at Waste Solutions 123 we carry 10, 20, 30, and 40 yard roll off dumpsters. We also carry front load dumpsters that are used for permanent use, they come in 2, 4, 6, and 8 yards. Our roll off dumpsters are rented temporarily, usually between 7-10 days. If you’re unsure about what size dumpster you’ll be needing, don’t stress, our project managers will help guide you in the right direction. You can also check our services and sizes page for more exact measurements.
Different Materials Call for Different Dumpsters
As many of us assume, you can throw anything and everything into a dumpster, while you can throw out almost anything, you can’t throw out everything. Depending on what you’re throwing away you may need a different dumpster, dumpsters for concrete, dirt, household waste, yard waste, and construction debris are all different. The materials also will weigh different amounts, if your material is brick or concrete it will be heavier, meaning your dumpster will need more weight. There are certain items you absolutely can not throw out in the dumpster as well. Mattresses, box springs, tires, household appliances, and paint cans can not be thrown into the dumpster. If you do happen to throw one of those items away, you will be charged a fee by the landfill.
We Have Weight Limits
Every dumpster rental will be given a weight limit, keep in mind going over the provided limit will result in over tonnage fees. When you call in, our project managers will do their best to help you choose the best dumpster for you, just give them some information about your project, how long you’ll be needing it, what you’re going to be throwing away, and how much waste you think your project will create. For example, if you’re throwing away concrete, you will either be sent a 10 or 20 yard container, the 10 yard you may fill up all the way, while the 20 yard you can only fill up to the halfway line. This is to ensure the dumpster won’t be too heavy when our drivers go to pick it up.
You Could Possibly Need a Permit
A permit may not be needed if you’re placing a dumpster in your driveway or on your private property, usually a permit is required when a dumpster is placed on the street or in a shared local space. Depending on where you live, your city may require a permit when renting a dumpster. When you call in, our project managers will double check to see if you’re going to need a permit, if you do don’t worry, we take care of it for you. Whatever the permit cost is will be added to your rental bill, you will never have to bother paying your city as we will get it done for you.
Call a Few Days in Advanced
When you begin a project, one of your first steps should be to call and get a dumpster. We are usually able to provide same day service, but it’s not always guaranteed. If you need a dumpster by a specific day, we suggest you call as soon as you know that you’ll be needing it. Our timeline may vary depending on the availability of dumpsters in your area, but most of the time we can send you out your dumpster as soon as the next day from when you place the order.
You Don’t Have to be Onsite for Delivery or Pick Up
Most customers assume they need be home for their dumpster to be delivered but that is not the case. The only instance where you need to be onsite for the dumpster to be delivered or picked up is when the driver will need to come through a locked gate. As long as our drivers have the ability to drop off or pick up the dumpster, you do not need to be there.
