Refresh Your Decor for Spring
It’s time to retire winter’s dull colors and heavy fabrics, and lighten up your home with some fresh decor. Spring is a great time to redecorate your home and bring in some new fresh items that will brighten and bring life back to your home. Here’s 6 ways you can freshen up your decor this spring!
Lighten Up
Your bedroom may be your favorite cozy space throughout the winter, but by spring you could be feeling a little claustrophobic. Open some windows and let the fresh spring air flow through the room, switch your heavy bedding quilts and comforters to lighter bedding options. Lighter bedding doesn’t just mean weight, but in color too, add some color or keep things clean and contemporary with a nice white blanket.
Go Green
Nothing says spring time like some greenery. Add some potted plants around your home to refresh the air, and your decor. If you find the weather by you is warm enough to start tending to your outside landscape, take some time to get your lawn looking lush and get rid of any weeds.
Re-purpose the Fireplace
It’s a good idea to empty the ashes and sweep out the hearth in your fireplace after a long winter. You can close up your fireplace until next year and invite spring in with some stacking logs, or add some candles and flowers surrounding the mantel.
Brighten the Bathroom
Bathrooms get a little dull after a long winters use. Give your bathrooms a little decor boost with an obvious fix, change the shower curtains. A new shower curtain in a fun bright color will make your bathroom seem lighter and larger.
Pump Up the Stairs
Treat your stairs to a facelift, paint the risers with a fresh coat for a bright, fresh look. You could also wallpaper them, if you choose this keep the pattern simple, so it doesn’t overwhelm the space.
Set the Table
If you’re like many others who have spent the winter eating dinner on the couch cuddled under blankets, it’s time to get back to the table. Make your table look like a spring celebration with some table runners, candles, and sparkling cocktail glasses, toast to warm weather with family and friends.
