Garage Clean Out – 5 Simple Tips
5 Simple Tips for Organizing
1. Set a Date
Choose a date to begin your project. Having a set date will force you to take the project seriously and make the process go by as smooth and quickly as possible.
2. Rent a Dumpster
Most people don’t realize how much trash they actually have in their garage. Instead of piling 40+ trashcans and garbage bags to the curb for about $300 to $400 you could get a 10-yard Dumpster delivered right to your home, picked up and disposed of. Saving you both time and energy that could be used doing more important things.
3. Purge
Get rid of the broken Christmas decorations, the power tool set that is missing parts and anything else you haven’t used or needed in the past two years. If you can’t decide whether you should keep something or not, set it aside for later.
4. Create Zones
Make spaces for everything and separate them. Holiday decorations to one zone, tools to another, family items in their own and so on. Making zones for the items your keeping will help you stay organized in the future.
5. Store Safe
After figuring out what you’re keeping make sure you have what you need to preserve it. Any boxes that are damaged – toss. Go to your local Target, Walmart, and or Home Depot and invest in new storage containers. Plastic bins with lids are a safe way to keep your important items safe, dry and damage free.
