New Year’s Dumpster Preparation
Bring in 2016 with Waste Solutions 123
The new year brings new projects, are you moving, renovating, or perhaps downsizing a elderly parent? All of these are life events are major, and need to be treated as such. Adding to the stress of these projects will be all of your regular activities of life, so anything that you can do to streamline your project is going to save you, time, money, and sanity. Thus, please consider the following as you formulate your project plan.
Many customers will choose a multi-phase approach to their project. They will rent a roll-off dumpster to put in their driveway for an initial clean-out. They’ll clean out a single area, like a garage, attic, shed, or basement to make room for a work space. For example, if they’re moving, they’ll clean out the basement to make an area for packing. For a renovation of a kitchen or bathroom, then empty space in the garage for new, incoming materials. (Like appliances, flooring, drywall, etc) This can be done a couple of weeks prior to starting the bulk of the project activity.
Once the project is underway, a second dumpster is rented for demolition debris, or items that are considered junk, and will not be moving to the next location. This helps to reduce the clutter that may get pushed to other areas of the house, or just clog up your work space.
Finally, as your project starts to wind down, a third dumpster will assist with keeping things neat and organized. It’s not uncommon to see a dumpster and a moving truck side by side in the driveway. As the items are brought out of the house, they have a place to go. And whether it is planned ahead of time, or placed impulsively, the great thing is that it only has to be moved once. For construction projects, having a bin at the ready for the debris created during the rebuilding process keeps your job site clean and orderly. There’s nothing worse than having to walk around loose boards, cardboard boxes from new items (Cabinets, fixtures, etc.), and/or pallets or other delivery items.
We hope you have enjoyed these tips, and that they will keep your project moving smoothly and efficiently. If you’re ready to rent your next dumpster for your project be sure to call us at Waste Solutions 123!
